Find the fault in your mouse, keyboard or controller

A drifting stick, a double-typing key, a worn mouse switch: peripherals fail quietly, and it is easy to blame a game or a driver when the hardware is at fault. Check it here first. Everything runs on standard browser APIs and never leaves your device.

Why test in the browser?

Hardware faults are easy to misdiagnose. A drifting thumbstick looks identical to a bad game config; a double-typing key could be a macro utility misbehaving. These tests read raw device data through the same browser APIs a web game would use, so you see what your computer actually receives and can separate a hardware fault from a software setting in under a minute. Nothing is installed, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create. GearLint works offline once the page has loaded.

Buying or selling used gear? Run the relevant test on the spot before money changes hands: stick drift, switch chatter and worn mouse buttons show up in seconds. Filing a warranty claim? A documented result from these pages makes the support conversation short and factual. Start with the controller drift test, the keyboard chatter test or the mouse double-click test.

Guides

Every test has a walkthrough behind it: how to connect the device, which numbers matter, and what to do when the verdict comes back bad.

Not sure which device is at fault? Start with the input device fault diagnosis — it maps the symptom to the right test, then to repair, replace or return.
